The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is one of the oldest surviving automobile tracks in the world (opened in 1909) and with a permanent seating capacity for more than 250,000 people and a total capacity of more than 400,000 people, it is the largest capacity sportig facility in the world.

Located in Speedway, a city completed surrounded by Indianapolis, Indiana, the raceway hosts the Indy 500 each May.

In 1969, the Indy 500 was won by Mario Aldretti, twin to fellow (retired by then) race-car driver Aldo Andretti.
