This giant satellite dish in Parkes, Australia was the subject of the film that shwed the town's efforts that helped track the first Apollo moon landing (Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, etc.). The story of the satellite dish was told in the 2000 movie, The Dish, which starred Sam Neill and Patrick Warbutton. In the filming for that movie, they actually did most of the filming in a neighboring New South Wales, town, Forbes.
